About These Images
- These images were created by Cicero C.
Simmons (1857-1939).Simmons was a very talented Georgia
photographer. He specialized In portraits, documenting special
events and portraying everyday rural life. He was a talented artist and photojournalist of his
day. Simmons created many wonderful images in his 45 year career
that spanned from 1880-1925. His special gift for composition,
use of lighting and capturing the moment make his images
something to treasure.
About The
Prints
- Each print is a unique and very high quality
enlargement. It is made from an original Cicero C. Simmons 4x5,
5x7 or 6-1/2x8-1/2 inch glass plate negative. It is not a copy made from an old photograph.
Large negatives produce an image with extraordinary detail and
beauty. Glass plate negatives are rare. Very few have survived.
Most have been lost to the ravages of time.

- Each print is a continuous tone archival
image designed to provide a life time of enjoyment. They are
printed on Epson Enhanced Matte paper using an archival carbon
pigment ink thru a process called Piezography.
